Privacy policy

This is a translation for convenience. The German version (Datenschutzerklärung) is legally binding.

2. Scope

This policy applies to the website gurusense.de. Our apps have their own privacy policies, which you can find in each app and in its app store listing. The Lumini privacy policy is available here (German).

3. Hosting and access data

We serve this website via Firebase Hosting, a service provided by Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). Google processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR, Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms). When you open a page, your browser automatically transmits the following data:

• IP address
• date and time of the request
• requested page or file and amount of data transferred
• HTTP status code
• referrer URL (the previously visited page)
• browser and operating system (user agent)

This data is processed to deliver the website securely and reliably and to detect abuse or errors. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure operation of the website. According to Google, Firebase Hosting uses IP addresses to detect abuse and to provide us with aggregated usage statistics (such as the number of requests), and retains them for a few months. We do not combine this data with other data or analyse it for advertising.

Firebase Hosting runs on Google's global infrastructure, so data may also be transferred to the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). Where it does not apply, Google uses the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR).

4. No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking services. No third-party content such as videos, maps or social media plugins is embedded.

5. Storing your display preference

If you switch between the light and dark theme, we store your choice in your browser's local storage (localStorage, key “theme”). The value never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us. Storing it is strictly necessary for the function you explicitly requested (Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete the entry at any time in your browser settings.

6. Fonts

The fonts used are delivered together with the website from our hosting. No connection to Google Fonts or other font providers is made when you visit the website.

7. Contact by email

If you send us an email, we process your address and the content of your message to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where a contract or app use is concerned, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our interest in answering enquiries). We delete the data as soon as it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply.

8. Links to other websites

We link to Apple's App Store, Google Play, our apps' websites, OpenStreetMap and our channels on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. Data is only transmitted to the respective provider once you click such a link. Their privacy policies apply there.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where we process data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21). Simply write to us at support@gurusense.de.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.
